Cheat: Easy Rare Candy and PP Ups

You can gain Poke Miles from many things, including Street Pass, but Wonder Trade gives you a large amount of miles very quickly. Poke Miles are doled out according to how far away a person is that you are trading with. So if you trade with people in a far away country, you get lots of Poke Miles.

You begin a Wonder Trade sequence by trading one of your cool Pokemon and then continuing to trade away the Pokemon you get in return. You won't be hurting anyone else, you'll just be passing the Pokemon down to the next person while accumulating Poke Miles.

Video: How to Get Lots of Poke Miles, Rare Candy and PP Up

Head to Lumiose City and enter the Pokemon Center. Inside, talk to the old man in the white suit. He'll offer you a variety of items in exchange for Poke Miles.

You can also buy these items with your Poke Miles at the Global Link Mileage Club for up to 50% off after registering your game.

Item Poke Miles
Rare Candy 500
PP Up 1,000

Cheat: Fully Heal Your Pokemon with No Items

If you start a battle over Wi-Fi in Pokemon X and Y, you will be returned to the game with your PP and HP restored no matter what after the battle. Start a battle, wait for your partner to accept and then finish the battle to return to the map like you just left the Pokemon Center.

You can also choose to quit the battle, but you should only do this with a friend who agrees to it, otherwise you will be wasting someone's time and appear to be rage quitting, and no one likes a rage quitter. If you quit, it will count as a loss on your record, so it's best to finish the match.

Secret: Infinite Heart Scales

Heart Scales can be used to teach your Pokemon moves you forgot or never learned at the Move Relearner in Dendemille Town. To obtain Heart Scales in Pokemon X and Y you need the Old Rod from Ambrette Town in the Aquarium by the Magikarp Statue and TM46, Thief, from Cassius's house in Camphrier Town.

Use the Old Rod on the Route 8 - Muraille Coast to battle Luvdiscs who have a 50% chance of carrying a Heart Scale. Keep fishing for an infinite supply of Heart Scales. Switch spots if Luvdisc doesn't take the bait.

IMPORTANT: you will not steal a heart scale if your pokemon using thief is already holding an item. Remove it's held item before begining to collect heart scales. (After it successfully steals a heart scale you will also need to take that heart scale away from it before it can steal another)

Secret: Easy Money

The Trainers at the Battle Chateau pay out amounts in excess of P1000 per battle when you start out, but as you gain rank these amounts skyrocket to north of P20,000 per battle. Combining this with an Amulet Coin and/or the Prize Money O-Power can result in a very profitable day at the Battle Chateau.

Another way to get easy money is to go into one of the restaurants in Lumiose City if you have lower level Pokemon then go to a 1 star restaurant, their Pokemon are always level 10. You will get around 2,000 for each battle, and many tiny mushrooms (between 15 and 20) which you can sell for more money at the Mart.

If you have higher level Pokemon then go to a 2 star restaurant, their Pokemon are always level 31. You will get around 4,000 for each battle other then the battle with the owner, which you will get almost 10,000, and many big mushrooms (between 15 and 20) Which you can sell for a lot of money at the Mart.

In different restaurants the "meals" (Pokemon battles) differ, from triple battles, to rotation battles. It tells you how many turns to use before beating the trainer. It costs 15,000 to get into a triple battle or rotation battle at a 2 star restaurant, and 2,000 to get into a triple battle or a rotation battle at a 1 star restaurant. It is very worth it though.

Make SURE to have either the Amulet Coin,Luck Incenseor Prize Money O-power or you will get a lot less money.

Secret Background Battle Items

Occasionally in battle, you will notice various things in the background, ranging from trees in the field to rock formations in caves. These seemingly innocuous background objects can be destroyed and release an item.

It seems that the various objects react to specific ranged attacks. While Surf may work on one, it won't work on another, and other moves such as Earthquake will not effect the same object Surf does.

Some of the known moves that work are Air Cutter, Twister, Razor Leaf, Petal Blizzard, Surf, Rock Slide, and Heat Wave.

Cafe Pokedex Help

There are three cafes around Kalos that you have to pay to enter. Each possible seat you choose will allow you to talk to patrons who will show you Pokemon for your Pokedex. The 100 price option will show you one Pokemon. The 1,000 price option will show you two Pokemon. The 5,000 price option will only show one Pokemon, but it will be guaranteed to be one you haven't seen. You can only do each one once, so use it only as a last resort for Pokemon you can't find.

Comet Shard and The Dying Old Man

In Anistar City, there is an old man who wishes to relax with one of your Level 5 or under Pokemon. He says he's been lonely for quite some time and wanted a friend to be with for a few days. You can give him any Pokemon you own that is under Level 5 and he will thank you kindly. If you visit him, he'll tell you about all of the fun he is having with your Pokemon and is really happy you gave him this opportunity. However, if you check back after a couple of days, all that will be in his home is a Pokeball that your Pokemon is in. Attached to the Pokeball is a note left behind the man which reads that he is proud to have met someone as nice as you, and thanks you for letting him spend his last few days of life with your Pokemon. He leaves behind a Comet Shard that can be sold for high prices in Lumiose City.

Exploit: Easy Hatching

In Lumiose City, there is Avery Convenient circle surrounding the big Pokemon Eiffel tower thing (The yellow in the middle of everything).

That, serves as a very nice endless road, perfect for hatching your new babies. Find a spot where you won’t bump into anything and Go! I recommend placing a quarter or any other coin to hold the slider pad In place. That way your trainer will roam around in circles while you go make a nice snack, the time is also cut in half when you have a Pokemon with the ability Flame Body in your party. Before you know it your new level one hatchling is yours.

Wondering If The Day Care Man Has An Egg?

Unlike the previous two games were the day care man would call you over if he had a egg for you, X and Y doesn't let you know or at least not a first glance. The day care man will actually face the road if he has an egg, if he doesn't he will be looking at the day care. Now your ditto can be pumping out a few more eggs during the time you would have been talking to the old man (well young man this time round).

EV Training All Your Pokemon At Once

To start off, you will need the EXP share and a Pokemon to have Pokerus. Once you have Pokerus, spread it to the rest of the Pokemon you are E.V. training by battling several wild Pokemon until the desired Pokemon are infected (Please note that when spreading Pokerus to your team, you will need to have the EXP share off, or you could be giving the wrong E.V.'s to your entire team). Next, you need to purchase the appropriate power item, which can be found in the Battle Maison for 16 bp each, for every Pokemon you are going to train. If, for example, you are going to train 2 Pokemon in HP, you need to buy 2 Power Weights, and equip them to the Pokemon you are going to E.V. train. The Power Items give +4 E.V.'s to the stat they boost, and the Pokerus doubles the amount of E.V.'s gained (E.V.'s gained from battled Pokemon + 4 from power Item) *2 from Pokerus. Next, you need to catch a Pokemon that has Sweet Scent. It is a field move that when used in a patch of grass, you are guranteed to fight a horde of Pokemon. You can find an Oddish in Route 6 that has Sweet Scent. Finally, you could get a Pokemon that has an attack that can knockout multiple Pokemon at once (surf, rock slide, discharge, etc.). This isn't required, but it does make the battles go much quicker. Now, go to a route that has a horde battle that corresponds to the E.V.'s you want to train in, and go into the grass. Use the field move Sweet Scent, and you will be autmatically put into a horde battle. You may not always get the horde you want to fight, but the ones listed are the hordes you are most frequently going to find when using Sweet Scent. The following Routes contain hordes that give off specific E.V.'s:

  • HP: Route 5 - Gulpin
  • Attack: Route 14 - Bellsprout
  • Defense: Route 10 - Nosepass
  • Special Attack: Route 21 - Spinda
  • Special Defense: Route 7 - Hoppip
  • Speed: Route 8 - Wingull

advertisem*nt

How this works: Each of the listed Pokemon on its own gives off 1 E.V. on their corresponding stat once defeated. In a horde battle, you are going to find 5 of the same Pokemon ( exception of Minum/Plussle and Seviper/Zangoose hordes). So, if you battle a gulpin, you will get 1 E.V. towards HP. If you fight 5, you will get 5 E.V.'s in HP. If you fight them in the horde, you will get 5 E.V.'s off of the one battle. But, this is where the Power Items and Pokerus come into play. If you fight the 5 gulpin, while holding the Power Weight, you will gain 25 E.V.'s in HP, and if you have Pokerus, at the end of 1 battle, you will get 50 E.V.'s in HP. And the fun part is, if you have EXP Share on, and the rest of your Pokemon in your team have Pokerus and Power Weight equiped, then at the end of 1 horde battle with gulpin, all of the Pokemon in your team will each gain 50 E.V.'s in HP. After 5 horde battles, your Pokemon should each have 250 E.V.'s in the stat you are training in. To finish it off, meaning to get the stat to the desired 252 E.V.'s, simply go into the Level 1 Super Training session and beat it, instead of gaining +4, you should only gain + 2, meaning the stat has reached the 252 E.V. cap. Please note, that after 5 horde battles, you have to stop traing in that particular Stat, because unlike Super Training, you can roll over the 252 limit that Super Training imposes (the natural limit is 255), and you have to use a reset bag on all of your team if you mess up.

Preparing for your Gym Battle

If you find yourself having too much trouble facing off your current Gym Leader have no fear. Before challenging the Gym Leader walk, skate or bike toward the next route and battle those trainers to help increase the level of your team. Some routes are blocked by the game but others are free to roam ahead of time which gives you a nice chance to level up before challenging the Gym.

No it isn't. Pokemon X & Y does a great job in helping you keep your team on a "level" playing field. No pun intended. Once you have beaten the Santalune Gym you will obtain your Exp. Share from Alexa. Be sure to keep it on, as your team gets a nice split of Exp. after every fainted Pokemon. This helps a lot, which means no more switching out and having to take damage for Exp. points

However, all Effort Value Points will also be spread amongst all Pokemon in the party. If you're doing strict EV training, turn the Exp Share off!

Mega Stones

After defeating the Elite Four you will now be able to hunt for Mega Stones; well almost.

First you have to find the Professor at the Lumiose Train Station and go to Kiloude City. After arriving in Kiloude City you must train a little bit at the Battle Maison. Once you have battled at the Maison, you can then challenge your rival. Defeat her/him, and he/she will then say the professor needs to tell you more information about Mega Stones at Anistar City Sundial.

Now after talking to the Professor, you will be able to hunt for Mega Stones between the times of 8pm-9pm. Trevor will keep you informed of different Pokemon who have mega evolutions. The Pokemon he describes changes daily.
