Starting Qmanager
- Please ensure that QTS 4.0 (or later) has been installed on your NAS.
- Install Qmanager on your device from the Google Play / Apple Store.
- Qmanager will automatically find every QNAP NAS on the local network. Based on the search result, select a NAS and log in with your username and password (Qmanager can only be used by administrators). If you have changed the administration port (default: 8080) of the NAS, enter the new port number.
Field | Description |
Nick name | Enter a name for the connection. |
Host/IP or myQNAPcloud name | Enter the host name or the IP address of the NAS. To connect to the NAS from the Internet, make sure the NAS is properly configured for remote access. Useful references:

User name | Enter your user name. |
Password | Enter your password. |
Secure login (SSL) | Secure Sockets Layer If you enable this option, you must make sure the port number is correct (Default: 443). |
Detect port automatically | Detect ports using the myQNAPcloud name or use the default ports. |
Resource Monitor
- You can check NAS system information in the Resource Monitor, including CPU usage, memory usage, disk usage, bandwidth, processes and online users.
- You can see detailed information for online users and can also block unwanted IP addresses to protect your NAS.
Privileges Settings
You can manage the access rights of users, user groups and shared folders.
- Users permission
- Create NAS users or manage home folder setttings by tapping button in Users tab.
- Manage privilege settings for specific users.
- Create NAS users or manage home folder setttings by tapping button in Users tab.
- User groups permission
- Create user group by tapping button in User Groups tab.
- Manage privilege settings for specific user groups.
- Shared folder permission
App Center
- Shows apps and services of QTS. You can enable/disable and install apps from here.
- Select All Apps to see third-party apps that you have installed on your NAS. You can also enable/disable them.
System Logs
- Event Logs displays warnings, errors and other messages regarding your NAS. You can also use the drop down list to filter messages.
- Connection Logs shows information about HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, AFP, NFS, SMB, and iSCSI connections.
System Tools
- You can eject or remove external devices that are connected to your NAS in the Ext. storage page.
- You can manage the IP block list of your NAS.
- Manually add a blocked IP from the button.
- You can remove a blocked IP address by clicking on the trash can icon.
- You can control you NAS remotely in the System page.

How to use Wake on LAN
You can see the WOL function in Qmanager by clicking the ">" next to the NAS connection and by going to the "Server Settings" page. This will appear after the first successful login.
Note: To use WOL, Qmanager and the target NAS must be connected to the same LAN.
Push Notification
The push service lets you receive notification messages on Qmanager if a warning or error event occurs - allowing you to quickly receive first-hand information from your NAS and instantly react to keep your data safe. For more information, please refer to the tutorial: How to use push service?
How to use 2-step verification to log in to a NAS using Qmanager
Note:
For more information about how to enable 2-step verification, please refer to How to enhance account security using 2-step verification?
- After enabling 2-step verification on your NAS, install Google Authenticator on your mobile device and configure it.
- Connect to the NAS using Qmanager.
- After connecting to the NAS it will start the “2-step Verification” process.
- Verify another way: If your mobile device with Google Authenticator is unavailable, you can use your chosen alternative verification method.
- Get security code: Applicable to the device that has Google Authenticator installed. This option will go to Google Authenticator. Long click and press to copy the security code.
Note: The system time of your mobile device and NAS must be synchronized. It is recommended to use the time provided from the Internet.
Note: If your device does not have Google Authenticator, selecting “Get security code” will guide you to install it.
- Return to Qmanager, enter the security code, and select “Login”.
