Many medical schools organize their training into two parts: preclinical and clinical. In a traditional four-year curriculum, the preclinical phase includes two years of science training when you learn about basic medical concepts, the structure and functions of the body, diseases, diagnoses, and treatment concepts.

The average unweighted high school GPA for a student admitted to the B.A./M.D. program is 3.9. The range of unweighted high school GPA for students admitted fall between 3.0 – 4.0. Applicants for admission to the B.A./M.D. program must be fully admissible to UMKC.

The MCAT. Applicants must also write the MCAT to be eligible for admission at Drexel College of Medicine. As we said above, Drexel's average MCAT score is 511. This should be your target score if you are considering applying to Drexel's MD program.

Similar to the average GPA for Johns Hopkins, the average MCAT is very high at 521. In our experience, students should have an MCAT of 516 or higher to be competitive for an interview invitation.
