By reading Picket Thill Field Notes you accept these plain terms. The journal publishes general information about fly fishing, hunting seasons, licenses, gear and water craft. It is information, not instruction tailored to you, and not a legal, safety or medical service.
Verify before you act
Season dates, license fees, boundaries and regulations change, and every figure on this site is presented as a typical band or framework to check against your own state’s current publications. Where this journal and your state booklet disagree, the booklet wins, every time, which is the standing rule of the season calendar guide. Nothing here is a reservation, a quote or an offer of service; the site sells no trips and takes no bookings.
Safety is yours
Moving water, firearms, weather and remote country are serious, and the checklists on this site, including the wading safety checklist, are aids to judgment rather than substitutes for it. You remain responsible for your own competence, your own licenses and the people you bring along.

The text and photographs of the journal belong to the desk; quote freely with a link, do not republish wholesale without asking.
